Everyones second team is on Amazon mate, costs a couple of quid, but worth every penny of it.

Had to bump this. Watched it last night and it was brilliant. As others have said slightly sad because that's the West Ham I remember which is long gone but great viewing.

According to various books I have read, including John Lyall's, they did play a 451 in training with Pearson dropping in that week, so most of the senior pro's and Pearson knew it was a possible option but Lyall didn't want Crossy to know in case he dwelled on the possibility. So when Lyall told both of them before the Final Pearson knew anyway.

Where can you view "Everyone's Second Favourite Team?" as sadly that's not on You Tube as far as I can see.

I was in the Eagle & Child Pub in Brentwood a month before the league Cup Final -a lot of the players of that time use it and he was standing at the bar with a fist full of tickets so on asking him brought two from him.

That's why I went every week then and only once a year now
as with all these interview's you can tell its the love of the club for all it stood for at the time is the main thread.
Pick anyone and look at the eyes of the story teller.

Brought back some great memories of that era the boy's of 86 apart that team from 1979 to 1982 was one of the best I have seen. Big Phil, Tonka, Lampard Senior, Bonzo, Stretch, Devo, young Paul Allen, Sir Trev, Crossy himself, what would they be worth now? What would we give to have them running out at the Palace today? Not forgetting the unsung others Geoff Pike, Patsy Holland and Paul Brush proper West Ham, they ought to show it to some of our current squad.

Can't remember hearing David Cross speaking previously but you can detect the Manc twang in his posh accent.

So well produced and edited. Happy to see more old school footage in this one.
Recreates the era perfectly.
Even that side had times so reliant on Parkes as we have Fabs now.
Different class our old West Ham legends. So many.
Its watching these and reminiscing makes you proud and a reason to stand up to the board and not turn your back on West Ham United the club so many legends dedicated years too, genuinely love the club and their years here.
Players need to watch more of these humble vids and more time with our old legends.
COYI
Thanks Len. Pukka as ever

Good watch, that.

I was surprised to hear that Lyall announced he was playing a new system against the Arse just 15 minutes before they went on. You'd have thought that they would have trained that way all week.

Sarge, he would be on the bench as we would play Antonio up front on his own!!!!

Really enjoyed that

He was my first hero centre forward.

That 80-81 season I remember a home game v blackburn - I was in the west lower enclosure - we won 2-0 I think he got both with headers IIRC and bossed their back line all afternoon.

Great player - what we'd give for him to be 40 years younger now...…………..

Makes you realise how fucked up football is today !!

Wanting to get picked to try and get a win bonus !!

God I miss those days.

In the video he never mentions his Upton Park nickname. Perhaps it was a sore point being known as Psycho: I must say he looks more sane without the beard.

Seasonal weirdness, Ron. I don’t get it. The link on the OP works for me, as does the YouTube channel links.

I think a few others have had the same problem as you, but most haven’t. My lack of pc skills means I can only suggest you try Ye Olde Wyping Thy Knob Across The Screen. Failing that, wait for someone cleverer than me to help.

Good luck, and merry Christmas.

I just subscribed.

I went into Len's channel list.

I saw the grinning mug of David Cross.

I clicked on it.

And YouTube STILL says "video not available".

What FUCKING GIVES??
